We offer a variety of daytime & evening fitness programs here at the Brooklyn Park Community Activity Center for Adults-Teens in our community. See yourself in Brooklyn Park Fitness!

For daytime classes: fill out this form and return the completed copy to the Community Activity Center front desk or email it here to register.

How to enroll:

  1. Pay at the front office of the CAC
  2. Sign waiver and enrollment
  3. Swipe your card at the front desk before class
  4. Sign your name on the attendance sheet at each class

Class descriptions and activity levels

Fitness participants must pre-register for a class session. Health insurance reimbursement programs (SilverSneakers, Silver&Fit, RenewActive & $35/mo) can be used for daytime classes & evening 5PM Hatha Yoga only. Please register by phone 763-493-8333, at the Community Activity Center front desk or online for the class(es) you will be attending.

Check the daytime monthly schedule posted in the Community Activity Center for class changes and no dates! All classes are located at the Community Activity Center.

Activity levels

This scale is an approximate guide to the activity level of a class or trip. The scale is based on the level of activity and physical ability needed to perform the activity. If you are unsure if a class or trip is right for you contact us.

Daytime Active Older Adult classes

Bring a water bottle to class and wear a mask & tennis shoes. Class will be held inside the Community Activity Center.

SilverSneakers® Classic

Intensity level: 2
If you want to increase your mobility and general health and wellness, this class is for you! This class will focus on strengthening muscles and increasing range of movement for daily life activities through the use of handheld weights, elastic tubing with handles and a silver sneakers ball. A chair will be used for seating exercises and standing support. Class meets: Tuesday mornings with Jenilee 10AM – 10:50AM

SilverSneakers® Dance/Zumba

Intensity level: 5
Come join a class that doesn’t even feel like exercise! Have fun while working out!  Participants will enjoy an interval style dance party that combines high and low intensity moves and focuses on balance, range of motion,  coordination, and endurance. Class meets: Friday mornings with Jenilee. 10AM – 10:50AM

SilverSneakers® Yoga

Intensity level: 2
Focuses on seated and standing yoga, with chair support available. The focus is on increasing flexibility, balance, and range of movement. This class is suitable for every fitness level. Class meets: Monday & Wednesday mornings with Stephanie. 10AM – 10:45AM

Zumba Gold®

Intensity level: 4
Perfect for active older adults who are looking for a modified Zumba class that recreates the original moves at a lower-intensity. The class introduces easy-to-follow Zumba choreography that focuses on balance, range of motion and coordination. Come ready to sweat and prepare to leave empowered and feeling strong! The class focuses on all elements of fitness: cardiovascular, muscular conditioning, flexibility and balance. Class meets: Wednesday mornings with Stephanie. 9AM – 9:45AM

Cardio Strength

Intensity level: 4
Ready to get your heart pumping? Our cardio classes are designed to boost your endurance and vitality, making every workout session exhilarating. The classes focus on low-impact movements and core strength. Class meets: Monday mornings with Stephanie. 9AM – 9:45AM

Silver Strength & Core

Intensity level: 5
This class offers a moderate intensity workout, designed to increase muscular strength, endurance, function, and cardiorespiratory health. This dynamic workout will include upper and lower body strength combinations and core strengthening exercises to support lower back health. Class meets: Tuesday & Friday mornings with Jenilee. 9AM – 9:50AM

Evening fitness classes

Hatha Yoga

Learn to use breath to de-stress and focus your mind, while stretching and strengthening your whole body. Each class includes balancing, stretching, chest and hip opening, ab strengthening and a peaceful final rest. Designed for the beginner to intermediate student: individual poses are presented with deliberate cues and modifications to ensure a safe, fun, challenging, yet achievable class for all. Please dress lightly in non-baggy clothes, must bring a personal yoga mat, yoga block, sweat towel and water bottle to class. Class meets: Tuesday evenings with Adriane. 5PM & 6PM

Fitness room and walking track

Can’t make it to our classes? That’s okay! The Community Activity Center (CAC) has a fitness room and walking track that you can visit any time during business hours.

Fitness Room Cost:

$15 for a 30-day calendar pass or $3 per day.

Adult Pickleball

Visit our Pickleball homepage to learn more about our pickleball offerings. You can join our emailing list for schedule updates and promotions. Indoor season at the Community Activity Center (CAC) is open for 2025-2026.

October-April, $3/time – tickets can be purchased at the CAC front desk.

Silver Sneakers, OnePass and Renew Active can be used to play Pickleball in the gym this year. You must scan your card at the front desk to play and have the paperwork completed.
