Fitness Room

Take advantage of affordable workout options at the Fitness Room! Amenities include:

  • Elliptical machines
  • Exercise bicycles
  • Exercise balls
  • Recumbent bicycles
  • Resistance machines
  • Treadmills

All ages are welcome! Everyone is allowed to use the fitness room. However, all children under the age of 15 must be accompanied by an adult.

Free Walking Track

Our indoor walking track is 630 feet and circles above the ice arena. Eight and one quarter laps equal one mile.

The Walking Track is free to the public and open during building hours with occasional closings due to hockey games or special events. *Note: the Walking Track is strictly for walking–no running allowed.

Sunfish Pond

Helping to promote a lifelong love of fishing to youth and families.

Sunfish Pond is, a kids fishing pond at the Community Activity Center, helps promote a lifelong love of fishing to youth and families. The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources stocks the pond with Bluegill sunfish.
Fishing hours are spring to fall from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily. The pond is closed during the winter months (when the water is frozen). You can fish from a floating pier and a shoreline deck. Be sure you have a fishing license! You can get a fishing license here.

Rules

  • If you are 16 or older you must have a valid Minnesota fishing license in your name. (You may purchase a license at City Hall, Mill’s Fleet Farm at 8400 Lakeland Avenue North, any Holiday Gas Station, and at most sporting goods stores.)
  • Adults may fish if they are with a kid who is fishing.
  • You can keep the fish you catch or you can catch and release.
  • Do not cut up fish while they are still alive
  • Do not fish from the shore. It tramples the plantings that help resist erosion.
  • Respect the native grasses and environment.
  • You must follow Minnesota DNR fishing rules.
  • No swimming.

Racquetball and
Wallyball Courts

Two air-conditioned courts are available for rent on an hourly basis for racquetball fitness or wallyball fun.

Locker rooms are available if needed (showers are currently closed). Racquets are available to use and complimentary protective eyewear is available.

Courts are reserved on the hour, and advanced reservations must be made by calling 763-493-8333.

Open Gym at the CAC

Air conditioned gymnasium located on the East end of Community Activity Center near the National Guard office

We offer two open gyms on Monday nights. Family open gym at 6 p.m. ($3/per person), and teen open gym at 7 p.m. ($1 per person). No April 22.
