Get Involved with our equity work

The most important part of working toward equity is YOU.

There are many ways you can work with us to promote equity in Brooklyn Park.

As a city government, we care a lot about equity, but there’s also only so much we can do. Knowing that, we partner with other organizations and individuals to combine our resources and expand the impact of our work.

Our most important partner: you!

The most important part of working toward equity is YOU. We do everything we can as a city government both directly and working with our partners, but we also need your help making sure that our efforts reach and benefit every single person who lives in Brooklyn Park.

Get to know your neighbors

One of the most valuable things you can do to create a united community is to welcome and get to know your neighbors! New Connect is a program that seeks to do that. We’re always looking for more volunteers to make sure that everyone who lives in Brooklyn Park feels welcomed and a part of our community.

Join a commission

Commissions are a great way to provide direct input to your local government. We rely on our commissions to help direct the work we do and make sure that our efforts align with our residents’ and business’ needs. If you’re interested in getting involved in equity work, consider joining our Human Rights Commission in particular.
