The Building Inspections Division

The primary function of the Building Inspections Division is to ensure the health, safety, and welfare of the public. This is achieved through building code and zoning regulations. The Building Inspection Division administers these regulations through permits and inspections. Building and related permits ensure that projects will be constructed according to building code and zoning regulations.

The Building Code is established by the State of Minnesota to protect health, safety, and general welfare through structural strength, means of egress, energy conservation, and safety to life and property from fire and other hazards.
