Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4)
The City has a municipal separate storm sewer system (MS4) permit issued by the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA). This permit regulates the stormwater that is discharged into state.

Watershed Commission
The City is a member of the joint watershed commission for Shingle Creek and West Mississippi Watershed Management Commissions. The commission manages the lakes, streams, and wetlands within their 67 square mile area.
