Safe Sitter

About Safe Sitter

Safe Sitter®(Ages 11-14) prepares students in grades 6-8 to be safe when they’re home alone, watching younger siblings, or babysitting. During this 6.5-hour training, students learn life-saving skills such as how to rescue someone who’s choking, and helpful information like what to do if there’s severe weather. The lessons are filled with fun activities and role-playing exercises. Students even get to use CPR manikins to practice choking rescue and CPR!*

*Please note that the Safe Sitter® Essentials course alone does not include an official First Aid/CPR certification

CPR certification

For those interested in becoming CPR-certified, please select the optional ‘add-on’ for an American Red Cross Pediatric First Aid/CPR additional training & test-out session.

This add-on option will be completed on the SAME date as the Safe Sitter® Essentials course as listed, extending the overall course to 8 hours in length. Participants must attend the entirety of the Safe Sitter® Essentials training to be eligible for this add-on.

Enrollment in the add-on Pediatric First Aid/CPR session does not guarantee certification. Certificates will be awarded to participants who successfully demonstrate competency in the required skills as outlined by American Red Cross requirements.

Registration

Pre-registration is required for both Safe Sitter Essentials and optional add-on. Registration closes one week prior to the course date.
