About the competition
Dress up a hydrant competition is a fun and easy way to get people involved in fire safety. Entering is as easy. All you have to do is adopt a hydrant, dress it up and post a photo.

About the adopt a hydrant program
Winters are cold and snowy in Brooklyn Park. Firefighters need quick access to hydrants, which means they need to be clear of snow and ice. You can keep yourself, your house, and your neighbors safe by adopting a hydrant today.
Who can participate?
Places of worship
Shovel five feet all the way around your hydrant after it snows three inches or more.
Sign up and name it
Signing up is easy. All you have to do is search for a hydrant near you and pick one that is available for adoption. Give it a name and take good care of it.
