Homestead Market Value Exclusion |

Some residents may notice an increase or decrease in property taxes for next year. The Homestead Market Value Exclusion provides a tax reduction to all homesteads valued below
$413,800 by shifting a portion of the tax burden that would otherwise fall on the homestead to other types of property. Watch here.

Minnesota State Law, Chapter 156 of the Session Laws of 2005, requires that "a city or county with a population of more than 15,000 must annually notify its residents of the positions and base salaries of its three highest-paid employees." For the City of Brooklyn Park, titles and salaries as of January 1, 2012, are: City Manager - $143,166; Finance Director - $127,275; and
Director of Operations and Maintenance - $127,275.
