Brooklyn Park is working with Hennepin County on the possibility of high-speed transit between downtown and the Target North Campus via Bottineau Boulevard and West Broadway. The study process is entering the Draft Environmental Impact Statement phase. The Scoping document and open house information is now available. Check it out!

Some residents may notice an increase or decrease in property taxes for next year. The Homestead Market Value Exclusion provides a tax reduction to all homesteads valued below $413,800 by shifting a portion of the tax burden that would otherwise fall on the homestead to other types of property. Business Forward is a new community initiative that will involve a wide range of community partners that affect the business climate in Brooklyn Park. The goal is an improved business climate in the community as well as enhance communication and collaboration between the business community and stakeholders.  More information...

The Brooklyn Park Police Citizen's Academy is a program designed to better educate the public about how the police department works on a daily basis. It is a ten-week program that consists of nine weeks of classes, meeting one night a week. The classes generally meet for two hours.  More information...

The Brooklyn Park Youth Violence Prevention Initiative (BPYVPI) was started after residents expressed concern about juvenile crime and victimization in the City. An impact report was recently completed.  Click here to read the latest information.

The Brooklyn Bridge Alliance for Youth sponsored a community summit on October 13 at Edinburgh USA Clubhouse. The purpose of the summit was to strategically bring partners and potential champions to learn about emerging research, innovative practices and available resources to support quality out of school learning.  More information
