The City’s Deer Management Plan identifies the number of deer that the natural habitat within Brooklyn Park can sustain.

The Recreation and Parks Department works in partnership with Three Rivers Park District and a consortium of seven suburban communities to determine the herd count and utilizes the Metro Bowhunters Resource Base (MBRB) to conduct its annual controlled deer hunt. The MBRB manages the hunter’s application process.

Deer Hunt Dates – 2025

  • October 6, 7 & 8th
  • October 27, 28 & 29th
  • November 10, 11 & 12th

2025 Hunt Locations to include:

  • Zone #1 – Northwoods Park
  • Zone #5 – Palmer Lake
  • Zone #10 – Greenhaven Park
  • Zone #11 – Brookdale Park Open Space

How to sign up

In order to be eligible to be randomly drawn to receive a permit, hunters must register with the Metro Bowhunters Resource Base (mbrb.org) before July 31.
