Charter Commission Application
Eligibility
Commissioners must lawfully reside in the City of Brooklyn Park. Charter Commission members must be U.S. qualified voters.
Deadline to apply
Applications for all commissions are always welcome! Commission applications are kept on file for one year from the date of receipt. As openings occur, applicants are notified of openings and invited to participate in the commission interview process.
Selection process
Charter Commissioners are appointed by the chief judge of the Hennepin County District Court.
Data privacy notice
Your name, city of residence, current volunteer position, education and training, volunteer work, awards and honors, and prior government service is public data under the Minnesota Data Practices Act. It is available to anyone who requests this information. The other information that is being requested in the application is not public. Your address and the phone number that you designate to be published in a public directory will become public if you are appointed to the commission. The information being requested on the application is not required, but the City Council will not be able to make an informed decision about whether or not you are the best candidate to appoint without this information.
