About:
MN’s Electoral Process begins on Tuesday, February 25, 2020 at 7 p.m. with the precinct caucuses. Going to a caucus is a great way to show support for a candidate, raise an issue that’s important to you, influence who the party will endorse for many offices, and meet people in your community.

Dr. Steve Suppan – Senior Policy Analyst at the Institute for Agriculture and Trade Policy (IATP)

Much of Steve Suppan’s work explains U.S. agriculture, trade and food safety policy to foreign governments and nongovernmental organizations, especially farmers’ organizations. His work has taken him to about 35 countries, most recently Costa Rica, South Africa, and Mexico. Steve was a lead author in the global report of the International Assessment of Agricultural Science and Technology for Development, whose executive summary was approved by 58 governments on April 12, 2008 in Johannesburg, South Africa. He will present a resolution regarding the climate change impact of NAFTA 2.0.

Jamez Staples – President, Renewable Energy Partners (REP)

Jamez Staples is leading the effort to develop a state-of-the-art workforce training facility on the Northside of Minneapolis. The training facility will work with high schools to raise the levels of energy career awareness among young people, particularly those of color. It will provide classroom and on-the-job training in foundational skills such as mechanics, technology, tools, and jobsite safety, as well as advanced training and certifications that open up higher income career pathways. Jamez will present a resolution in support of stateThinkTThink funding for the workforce training facility.
