Black History Month Showcase

Join the City of Brooklyn Park for our annual Black History Month Showcase.
This year’s celebration embraces the national theme, “100 Years of Commemoration,” honoring a century of preserving, uplifting, and reflecting on Black history and contributions.
Engage with community leaders and cheer on local performances. Get to know Brooklyn Park’s artistic community and enjoy food from our amazing restaurants.
Attendees can enjoy for free:
- Soundbath Experience (5:15-5:50pm) with Bruce Williams

- Check out Sahan Journal’s article on the work they’ve been doing in MPLS
- Participants are strongly encouraged to bring a yoga mat for this experience.
- Family photography sessions with Lex B Photography
- Food from Wendys House of Soul starting at 5:30pm
- Timing for food has changed compared to an earlier flier for this event.
- Food is first come first served.
- Performances by Brooklyn Park youth, Daniel the Violinist, Heart and Soul Drum, and Jamela Pettiford
- Art Activity by VIBE Art
- Vendor and Resource Fair with 15+ booths!
- There will be vendors selling craft items so bring cash if you’d like to purchase items.
