Members of our Recreation and Parks team partnered with Osseo Area Schools to build art kits to go for youth and families. The team assembled 1,200 art kits to keep Brooklyn Park youth and families engaged during this crisis.
Youth and families received multiple art projects, project suggestions and art supplies to be completed at home. We want to give a huge thank you to everyone who made this happen and we want youth and families to know that Recreation and Parks cares about you!
Osseo Area School District distributed meals and these art kits to the following schools:
- Birch Grove
- Crestview
- Edinbrook
- Park Brook
- Palmer Lake
- Woodland
- Zanewood
- Park Center
It’s been a great opportunity to be able to provide the community with these art kits and seeing how youth are able to express their creativity during this pandemic. The art kits are meant to give youth an outlet to provide them a way to stay engaged in the community. We hope everyone has enjoyed using the various art supplies in the kits. – Laura P, staff member
Lifting arts in Brooklyn Park and engaging young people and families through these kits during this pandemic has been an amazing opportunity. It truly takes a village and we are excited our community has enjoyed them as much as we did creating them. – Laura S, staff member
My daughter is 3 and my son is 2 and they had so much fun with this activity. We don’t need to be entered into the challenge, I just wanted to thank you for the fun activity. We thoroughly enjoyed getting to do it. – Art kit participant
