VIRTUAL: Two Brooklyns, One Vision

Get ready for an important journey! The cities of Brooklyn Center and Brooklyn Park are teaming up for a special initiative.
In January, we’re shining a spotlight on the Netflix series “When They See Us” by Ava DuVernay, which received critical acclaim for its powerful storytelling, acting performances, and its examination of the social and racial issues surrounding the Central Park Five case. Featuring Dr. Raj Sethuraju, a Racial Justice Healer and organizer, we’ll discuss important issues like racial profiling, systemic injustice, and the impact of the criminal justice system on marginalized communities. More importantly, you will gain the skills and confidence to help dismantle systems of oppression, heal, and advance whole communities.
Tune in for two virtual screenings of “When They See Us” (contains mature content, parental discretion advised)
