Inspections

Inspections are required for all permits. An inspection record card will be issued to identify the required inspections for each project. These cards contain important information about the job and are used to record completed inspections. Inspection record cards must remain available to the inspector and be on the job site until the final inspection has passed.

City inspectors will inspect a project several times during construction for items such as footings, framing, insulation, final building inspections, including all plumbing, and mechanical work.

Inspection Requirements

The permit holder is responsible for providing the approved stamped plans and the permit card on-site for all inspections. Note: During busy times of they year plan on a three to four-day wait time for requested inspections

  • All permitted work requires an inspection. City approved plans and permit card are required to be on the job site for every inspection. If not the inspector will not be able to perform the inspection.
  • The permit holder is responsible for scheduling inspections. If the inspector must enter the home, the contractor or a legal adult must be present.
