What will my child need to bring to Preschool Adventure Camp each day?
Each child will need to bring a snack and water bottle each day. We will be outside, so please dress for the weather and wear clothes that can get dirty.
Who are the staff?
Our most experienced camp staff work at Preschool Adventure Camp. We have additional staff available on the first day to help ease any transitions for first time campers. Members of our Leader in Training program volunteer with our preschool campers. All activities for Preschool Adventure Camp are planned by the director of ABC Nature Pre-K.
Does my child need to be toilet trained by the start of camp?
We do require all preschool adventure campers to be completely toilet trained prior to the start of camp. We do not allow the use of pull-up diapers unless the child has a disability. At the Eidem Homestead site, we have a portable toilet available for our use and do not have indoor bathroom facilities.
What is inquiry-based learning?
Best practice and kindergarten readiness research is showing that children learn best when they have the opportunity to be hands-on with program materials and participate in small group activities with other children and a teacher or leader. Inquiry-based learning methods teach children to ask questions and investigate and ultimately learn how to learn. We will explore and discover new things by trying them with our own hands.
