Storytime on the farm

Historical Events

$6 adults, $4 children under age 12, kids 4 and under free.

Experience what the changing seasons meant for life on a farm. Each event highlights the traditions and activities representative of seasonal life on a farm such as planting a spring garden, cooking on the wood stove, making fresh apple cider, and visiting with St. Nick. There is something for everyone to enjoy as you participate in the festivities that have become family traditions.

Fall on the Farm October 13, 2018 noon to 3 p.m.
A Norwegian Christmas Dec 1 and 2, 2018 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

**This event is free (pony rides are $2).

We want your input on Eidem Homestead's future!  Come hear about what changes are being discussed as part of the 10-year master plan; what new programs, amenities and facilities could happen, and see preliminary design concepts for the site. Talk with City staff and consultants to provide input on initial concept plans and learn how you can help secure the future of Eidem Homestead.

Daily Life on the Farm

$5 at the door; kids 4 and under free.

Discover what happens during a typical day on the farm. Visitors can help with daily chores, explore the grounds and barnyard, or simply stop by for a chat and enjoy the afternoon breeze. Neighbors and friends are always welcome!

Wednesdays (every other) June 13, 27, July 11, 25, August 8 and 22 noon to 3 p.m.
4th Saturday June 23, July 28 and August 25 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

 

Stories from the Porch

FREE; snacks available for purchase.

Make story time unique with a visit to the farm! Children's stories that both entertain and teach kids are read off the kitchen porch followed with time to play on the ground and visit with the farm animals. Morning and evening sessions are offered seasonally. Pack a chair or blanket, listen to stories read aloud, then enjoy playing on the farm.

Daytime Readings at 10:15 a.m. and 11 a.m. June 19, July 10, 17, 24, August 7, 14 and 21 10 a.m. to noon
Evening Come in your jammies and say good night to the animals June 26, July 31 and August 28 7 to 8 p.m.
