Old Log Theater

Join us on a fun musical ride through the 60s! This story is told from the perspective of six women who came of age in this complex decade, looking back on a host of issues ranging from their first Beehive Dance to the challenges we faced as a nation, all accomplished by a vast array of the most celebrated and memorable songs of the era, like “It’s My Party,” “My Boyfriend’s Back,” “Be My Baby,” “Son of a Preacher Man,” “Proud Mary” and more.

Mississippi River cruise on the Treasure Island Spirit of the Water

We will enjoy a relaxing cruise down the scenic Mississippi River. The Spirit of the Water is an elegant 100-passenger yacht.

Water levels will determine the amount of walking required. Participants may need to walk about three blocks and may need to manage the narrow and possibly steep gang planks to board the boat.

A buffet lunch will be served on the yacht.

Redlin Art Center

Watertown, South Dakota

This tour is to the Redlin Art Center, which opened its doors June 1997. Once arriving at the center, we will be introduced to the Legacy of Terry Redlin in the auditorium. The film shares his process and techniques with never-before-seen footage of Terry Redlin painting at his easel. After the film, we will gather on the patio that overlooks a 30-acre park. The park was designed by Terry Redlin to attract wildlife and be inspired by nature’s canvas.  Following lunch, we will spend time at our own pace in the gallery; it houses more than 150 oil paintings and each one marks a specific time in Terry Redlin’s life. There are three floors of artwork to explore in this massive 52,000-square-foot brick building. There will be an opportunity to visit the gift shop before we leave the gallery.

Celebrate Oktoberfest

Brookview Community Center (newly remodeled), Golden Valley

Don’t miss this celebration of good food and German-style fun. 

During the luncheon, entertainer ‘Squeezy’ Wes Miller will delight attendees with authentic polka and Oktoberfest accordion music. A seasoned accordion performer, ‘Squeezy’ will be walking through the crowd to entertain the audience and provide a fun Oktoberfest party atmosphere. Afterwards, dance or just sit back and listen to the Fridley City Band playing a variety of dance music, polkas and old time classics.

Minnesota's finest fall fare

St Croix River cruise, St. Croix vineyards and shops in Stillwater

Experience the best part of what Minnesota's fall has to offer. Travel to the Aamodt's Apple Farm and St. Croix Vineyards. Taste as well as shop the variety of fall harvest goodies, such as apples, pies, local honey, cider donuts, fresh apple cider and other tasty products. An array of popular local wines are also available. Then onto our cruise on the St. Croix River aboard one of the modern vessels from the St. Croix Boat & Packet Company fleet; it is climate controlled and fully accessible. Table seating is available on the first floor. Relax and enjoy the sights and sounds of the St. Croix River.

Following our boat cruise you will have time to check out the Northern Vineyards Winery or Maple Island Brewing on the main street in Stillwater, visit the shops or sit and enjoy the shoreline before we board our coach bus to Brooklyn Park.

About 11:45 a.m., a deli luncheon is served buffet style which will include a variety of meats and cheeses, salads and dessert bars, coffee and soft drinks.

Music Man

Mason City, Iowa

Start your adventure in Mason City with a guided tour of the Historic Park Inn. Built in 1910, the Historic Park Inn is the last designed and built Frank Lloyd Wright hotel in the world. Following the tour you will be served a buffet lunch in the hotel ballroom. The afternoon sites include The Music Man Square, home of the Meredith Wilson museum and a tour of Meredith Wilson’s boyhood home. This trip includes a comfort stop at the Trails Travel Center (on own) in Albert Lea. There are fast food options to choose from.

  1. Club sandwich: turkey, bacon, pepper jack, bibb lettuce, tomato, red onion on a pretzel bun, chips and pickle spear

Mni Sota

Remembering our people, our story 

Explore the history and culture of Native Americans in the Twin Cities. This is primarily a riding tour past some important Native American sites with a few stops along the way. We will have a step-on guide, who will share the ancient stories of the original peoples of this area called “Mni Sota”. The fabled story of Hiawatha, the beautiful mythical Indian princess who was inspired by Longfellow’s imagination from the beauty of this area. Listen to the sacred stories about the Dakota and the Ojibwa who have lived in this area for thousands of years. You will be guided back in history to learn about their customs, while driving to Mounds Park, ancient burial grounds, Ft. Snelling Park Interpretive Center, 1862 Conflict, Ancient Traders Market, Indian Gifts and Arts Center and Minnehaha, the beautiful water falls in Minneapolis.

There will be some walking so please wear durable shoes.

  1. Red Lake Walleye cake melt: famous Red Lake Walleye mixed with vegetables, herbs, lettuce, tomato, roasted red pepper aioli with a cheese blend

Fagen Fighters WWII Museum

Granite Falls, Minnesota

This Fagen Fighter WWII Museum is home to a pristine collection of fully operational, active aircraft and vehicles from World War II. Also featured are fine art, bronze sculptures, interactive multimedia displays, and an ever-growing library. The facility is designed as a self-guided
experience and gives a rare look into the lives and legacy of the “Greatest Generation”. We will take time to absorb the exhibits, watch the videos on interactive screens, peruse the library and tour the three buildings with planes.

Lunch will be at the Granite Run Golf course. Soup and make your own sandwich buffet, beverage and chocolate fudge brownies.

Teen Idol: The Bobby Vee Story

History Theater

In 1959, fifteen-year-old Bobby Velline performed at the Winter Dance Party in Moorhead, Minnesota on "the day the music died." Bobby went on to record his first hit single, Suzie Baby, in Minneapolis. He soon would become a teen idol appearing on American Bandstand with Dick Clark and an international star who thrilled audiences for more than a decade with Top 40 hits like "Devil or Angel," "The Night Has A Thousand Eyes," "Come Back When You Grow Up Girl" and many more.

Follow Bobby’s musical journey that includes fellow pop stars like Little Anthony & The Imperials, Ronnie & The Ronettes, Dion, and Del Shannon.

Chanhassen Dinner Theatres

Holiday Inn, the new Irving Berlin musical performance at the Chanhassen, tells the story of Jim, who leaves the bright lights of show business behind to settle down on his farmhouse in Connecticut. Highlights

Travel on the Amtrak Empire Builder Train to Milwaukee. Stay at Milwaukee's Landmark Art Deco Ambassador Hotel. Enjoy dinner at Mader's Restaurant and a guided lights tour of downtown areas. Tour the Pabst Mansion, shop and dine in the historic district, Cedarburg. That evening, check into Holiday Inn Express in Fort Atkinson. Enjoy the Thursday evening signature buffet and theatre play Elf the Musical. On our way home, we will visit Wisconsin Dells for lunch at Trappers Turn Restaurant.
