During the Monday, July 9 city council meeting, there will be a public hearing regarding a proposal to amend the existing All-Night Parking Ordinance 72.11 and to include snow emergency parking regulations.

The proposed snow emergency amendment states it is unlawful for any person to park a vehicle on any street in Brooklyn Park after the City of Brooklyn Park declares a snow emergency and until the street has been plowed curb to curb. If vehicles are parked on city streets during a snow emergency event, the police department is authorized to issue citations to vehicle owners and have the vehicles towed to an impound lot. The owner of the vehicle will be responsible for all costs associated with the citation, towing and impound operations.

The July 9 public hearing will be held during the City Council meeting. The meeting will begin at 7 p.m. at City Hall, 5200 85th Ave. N. The public hearing is an opportunity for residents who have opinions about the proposed snow emergency parking regulation or about the amendment to the overnight parking ordinance to share those opinions with the City Council.

If you cannot attend the public hearing, you can watch the meeting online.
