Brooklyn Park Nature Preschool names bunny
September 27, 2018 01:44 PM
Brooklyn Park Nature Preschool prepares children for kindergarten through child-led and hands on learning experiences where children can ask questions, explore materials and discover answers and solutions.
This week our children answered the question of, “What should be the name of our classroom bunny?” The children wrote their suggestions on a poster outside the classroom for a week. Then the children voted as a class from the suggestion list. We used a graph and children placed their name next to the name they wanted.
Teachers can enhance children’s interest in mathematics by creating graphs about familiar routines and classroom events. Graphing provides a meaningful opportunity for children to represent and communicate important mathematical relationships. Some of these relationships include equality, inequality and the associative property in addition. This associative property is also referred to as a “grouping property”.
We ended up naming the bunny Snowball.
Do you want your child to come to this exciting Nature Preschool Program? We still have openings in our Monday/Wednesday 12:30 to 3 p.m. class.
