Traveling trunk

Our traveling steamer trunk is full of artifacts and information that comes to you. Whether you’re a teacher in, public, parochial or home school, a youth organization or program leader, or coordinate activities or adults, this is a great resource that will help bring the past to life for your participants.

The trunk contains a number of hands-on artifacts relating to early 20th century farm life and the roles of men, women, and children. Included in the trunk is a manual complete with artifact identification cards, historical information, sample lesson plans, and activity instructions. An optional costumed presentation on the trunk and its contents can enhance participants’ experience and provide additional information.

Reserving the trunk

The trunk may be checked out for up to 2 weeks at a time for organizations within a 30 mile radius of Brooklyn Park. Reservations must be made 2 weeks in advance. Reservations are not final until you’ve received a confirmation letter/email.

The steamer trunk measures 20″x20″x53″ and weighs about 75 lbs. Two people are required to pick up and drop off the trunk with a van or vehicle with similar storage space.
