Learn about volunteering to welcome new homeowners to Brooklyn Park
Are you or your group looking for a service project?
The city needs the strength of many volunteers to help fill New Connect bags with important information about the community. Volunteers are also needed to distribute the bags to people who are renting a place to live in Brooklyn Park.
There are more than 8,000 rental units in Brooklyn Park; making up about 28 percent of the population. The New Connect bags provide information about city services and programs and provide ways for people to connect to each other.
On Sept. 15 and Oct. 20, the city is hosting two volunteer opportunities. More than 20 volunteers are needed at each to session to help fill bags. People who volunteer to fill the bags will get a free lunch while volunteering. The goal is to deliver a New Connect bag to each rental unit by spring 2019! The plan is ambitious but we know we can do it with your help.
The New Connect program is an initiative to welcome new homeowners to the City of Brooklyn Park. This year the New Connect program was expanded to include people who are renting a place to live in Brooklyn Park.
