About the River Park Master Plan

The Recreation and Parks Department is creating a master plan for River Park. City staff will explain possible park improvements and gather community feedback.

Staff will be collecting feedback through January 15. You can also review the draft plan on the city website and make comments.

Review and comment on River Park

A final plan will be presented to the community and City Council in February of 2019. Information on the project timeline will be posted on the River Park webpage, once finalized.

About the Highway 252/I-94 Project

We want to improve congestion, safety, and reliability on two highways in the area:

  • Highway 252 between Highway 610 in Brooklyn Park, and I-694 in Brooklyn Center, and
  • I-94 from I-694 in Brooklyn Center to downtown Minneapolis.

Highway 252 may be converted into a freeway, and an addition of MnPASS lanes is being considered for both Highway 252 and I-94.

These changes would affect drivers, transit riders, pedestrians, and bicyclists in the area.
