Does gender violence in diaspora go deeper than physical violence?

The purpose of this forum is to find out to what extent gender violence is an issue and what are its systemic influences.

In diaspora, many new or existing immigrant communities don't open up. In other words, it's a no discussion topic because they fear community stigma.

The fundamentals of our culture are being eroded because we live in new environments where laws and immigrant cultural norms are constantly clashing. Women have changing expectations regarding their say in household management because of the increased economic status, competition with their spouses, and multi-tasking.

While some men are more inclined to stick to traditional cultural expectations regarding masculinity, many women are comfortably adapting and navigating the new mix of empowerment with satisfaction. Thus their gender roles are in dire conflict, and gender violence often becomes a serious problem in their marriage.
