A community leadership series. Six workshops, one each month to help prepare your organization.

These workshops are designed to help people thinking of starting a nonprofit organization decide whether a nonprofit is the best alternative for their organization and to prepare the documents needed to apply to be a nonprofit.

In six months, you will work on completing all the documents you need to apply for your nonprofit status. You'll gain the knowledge you need to start a nonprofit or be ready to participate as a board member and save the cash you'd need to pay a nonprofit lawyer.

In addition, the workshops are intended to help both new nonprofit leaders, less experienced boards, and new staff, board members, and volunteers get up to speed in their roles and responsibilities.

Participants can choose which workshops they would find helpful given their role in the nonprofit.

If you complete all six workshops, you will receive a certificate for completion of the Nonprofit Workshop Series. In addition, Marcy Harris will review your applications to the MN SoS and the IRS so you can be sure it will be accepted.

Agenda for each workshop

  • 5:45-6:15 p.m. light supper
  • 6:15-8:15 p.m. workshop
