Assessing Inspections
No interior inspections will be conducted on all property types (Residential, Commercial, Industrial and Apartments).
If you live in a neighborhood that is being reviewed this year, you will receive a postcard from the city in the mail. We are requesting that homeowners provide home details on our assessing questionnaire.

Homestead

Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV)
Our Department of Motor Vehicles office is open for service. Please schedule an appointment.
A Secure Drop Box can now be used for the following services:
- Vehicle Tabs with your renewal notice and fees
- Watercraft, ATV, OHM, ORV & Snowmobile Renewals with renewal card and fees
Beginning October 16th online scheduling is available and appointments are required Monday through Friday for the following services:
- Vehicle Tabs – If you do not have a pre-bill or someone else is purchasing the tabs, complete this form
- Vehicle Tabs – If you have more than 3 vehicle renewals
- Vehicle Tabs for Lease Extensions
- Vehicle Title Transfers and New to State
- Duplicate Tabs or License Plates – Only complete, unaltered, signed applications with correct fees submitted will be processed.
- Disability Parking Certificates – Only complete, unaltered, signed applications with correct fees will be processed.

- Dealer Work Process
- By Appointment only to drop off work – Dealer work will no longer be processed at the counter as a walk up service
- Work will be processed in the order that we receive it
- Paperwork must be complete and include copies to be stamped and returned when completed – (We no longer will provide copies of paperwork)
- Types of payment accepted are Business Check, Cashiers Check, Money Order or Cash – No Counter/Starter, Second Party or Out of State Checks accepted. Checks should be made payable to The City of Brooklyn Park and must include a current phone number
- Dealer will be contacted by phone when work is completed to arrange for pick up. You will be asked to call when parked outside City Hall to pick up your work.
- Duplicate Driver’s License – Lost, Stolen or Change of Address Only – No Changes to REAL ID or Enhanced Driver’s License or ID can be processed in this office.
*Minnesota has an extension for REAL ID enforcement, allowing Federal agencies to accept driver’s licenses and identification cards from Minnesota at Federal facilities, nuclear power plants and federally regulated commercial aircraft until October 1, 2021. Also, Gov. Walz signed a bill into law March 28 that provides an extension for Minnesotans whose driver’s licenses or ID cards expire during the peacetime emergency. The expiration dates for these licenses will be extended for two months after the month the peacetime emergency ends.
NOTE: The Deputy Registrar reserves the right to not process any transaction if information is missing or incorrect. This may require an additional appointment to be scheduled to complete a service. Please arrive with your paperwork prepared and expect longer wait times.
