Council Member, East District
Terry Parks is a 35 year resident of Brooklyn Park. He is currently employed as a Fire Investigator for EFI Global. Terry has an AAS Degree in Fire Science and Fire Protection.
Terry was elected to the East District Council seat in 2014 and began serving his first term in January 2015 and his second term in 2019. He ran for office because of his love for the City. He wants to make sure the City is heading in the right direction with all residents in mind, not special interest groups.
Terry has served on the Charter Human Rights Commission, Charter Commission, and the Recreation and Parks Advisory Commission. He has also served in the community by working with Tater Daze, Elks, Lions, Scouts, VFW and Legion elections, and coaching.
Terry started volunteering right out of high school when he joined the Navy SeaBees. He retired from Minneapolis Fire Department in 1998 and Brooklyn Park Fire Department in 2000. Volunteering is his passion, and with God’s help, he plans to continue for many more years.
Terry and his wife, Carol, have two sons, Kevin and Travis, one daughter-in-law and two beautiful granddaughters. They moved to Brooklyn Park in 1981.
