Lisa Jacobson

Council Member, East District

Lisa Jacobson chose to run for the City Council because of her desire to make a difference in Brooklyn Park in a new way. This is Council Member Jacobson’s first time on the Council, which began in January 2017.

Prior to being on the City Council, she was on the Planning Commission and the Recreation and Parks Advisory Commission and served as Chair of the Brooklyn Park Foundation. Lisa is a member of the Brooklyn Park Lions and has previously served as President of the Brooklyn Park Women of Today, Chair of the Brooklyn Avenues Advisory Committee and the Brooklyn Park Community Organization (BPCO), Vice Chair of the Hennepin County Sheriff Foundation Board. She was awarded the Brooklyn Park Youth Mentor of the Year in 2013 and the Mayor’s Good Citizenship Award in 2008. She was also a Girl Scout troop leader for 13 years.

Lisa has been a resident of Brooklyn Park for more than 30 years and was born and raised in nearby Robbinsdale. She has two children, both graduates of Champlin Park High School.
