Community Long-range Improvement Commission

About

Community Long-range Improvement Commission (CLIC) members study long-term trends and makes recommendations to the City Council on improvements to Brooklyn Park's future.

Issues range from promoting business development, making transit connections, using of social media and mobile technology and partnering with groups in the community. The Community Long-range Improvement Commission also reviews the city's infrastructure planning (streets, sewers, and public buildings) where public funds will be involved.

Roles and duties

The Community Long-range Improvement Commission studies city departments, initiatives and processes to see if anything can be improved. This committee works with all the departments. It’s perfect to get an overview of what the City does for its residents and business owners:

  • Make recommendations to the City Council if there are improvements that should be made to better meet the needs of the community
  • When improvements are brought to the table, help the City Council determine which improvements are done first.

Apply to become a commissioner

Applications are always welcome! Applications are kept on file for one year. As openings occur, applicants are notified of openings and invited to participate in the commission interview process.
