New this year!

Tell us what you want to see at these events and RSVP here.

Coming to a neighborhood near you…the City of Brooklyn Park is going mobile! We heard you: getting to city meetings and events can be tough when you have jobs, kids and other commitments. The plan is to bring you the information you need to be better connected to City Hall. There will be food, fun and prizes.

Fun stuff to do:

  • Meet the police K-9
  • Food trucks
    • The first 50 people to arrive at 6:30 p.m. to attend the event will receive a $5 voucher toward a purchase from one food truck of your choice. This voucher will be good only on June 27, 2019.
    • G.I. Joe's
    • Lake State BBQ
    • Sugar Shack
  • Selfie stations
  • Social media contest
  • Prizes and more

What's happening at each station:

  • Administration: Information about the 2020 election, register to vote and try your hand at the voting machine. Find out what jobs are available and how to sign up for job alerts.
    • 7:00 p.m. – Neighborhood Project Funding for residents
    • 7:30 p.m. – Art contest winner to be announced

  • Community Development: Information about new developments and proposals, building inspections; business, rental and homeowner resources. Provide feedback on a possible ordinance change regarding chickens, pigs and goats. Also, purchase city swag.

  • Finance:  learn about DMV Services including info on fishing and boating, check out the City budget display…discover where your tax dollars go.
    • 7:45 p.m. – Assessment valuation and how it works

  • Fire: Meet your Fire Chief and hear about the new strategic plan. Take a selfie in the firefighter cut-out and enter into the social media selfie contest.

  • Operations and Maintenance: Do you know how many feet of pipe and infrastructure is buried under us? Did you know Brooklyn Park has the largest city solar installment in the state? View maps, learn about other O&M services and ask about projects in your neighborhood.

  • Police: Meet the K-9 and learn about the life of a K-9 officer. Did you know the Police Department provides a service to assess your home for safety? Want to start a Neighborhood Watch? Ask about it all here.

  • Recreation and Parks: Discuss and provide feedback on upcoming Park Bond Reinvestment projects, learn about recreation programs for people of all ages, spin a wheel and win some fun prizes, and grab a free t-shirt while supplies last.
