Brooklyn Park Ambassadors

The Brooklyn Park Ambassadors are goodwill ambassadors that represent Brooklyn Park at community events and spread the word that Brooklyn Park is a thriving community inspiring pride where opportunities exist for all. This is a year-round program but the majority of the appearances happen May to August.

Applying for the ambassador program

You will need to submit a headshot (no larger than a 5x7) and $25 registration fee with the application.

Deadline to apply

Deadline to apply to the ambassador program is Wednesday, April 17, 2019.

Who can join?

  • People between the ages of 17 and 21
  • People who live, work to attend high school in Brooklyn Park
  • Participants must be single, never having been married, nor be pregnant or have any dependents.
  • Participants should be aware that Ambassadors are not allowed to have visible body art or piercings other than ear piercings. If selected, Ambassadors will be asked to sign a contract of conduct and agree to follow the rule. 

Scholarships

Scholarships of a-yet-to-be-determined amount will be awarded to each Ambassador at the completion of their year of service provided they have followed the code of conduct and contract rules.

Become a Junior Ambassador!

The Junior Ambassador candidacy offers young boys and girls a unique opportunity to become a representative of the City of Brooklyn Park for a year.

In order to participate in the candidacy process, your child must be between the ages of 6 to 10 years old (as of June 14th, 2019) and either live or attend school in Brooklyn Park.

You will need to submit a headshot (no larger than a 5x7) and $25 registration fee with the application.

Activities we do

  • Volunteer at community events in the city like Tater Daze and Movie in the Park
  • Serve at community outreach events like schools, Salvation Army bell ringing or Feed My Staving Children
  • Raise funds for the program (self-sustaining)
  • Speak at council meetings
  • Attends other festival parades and coronations throughout Minnesota and part of Wisconsin
