Fatal accident in Brooklyn Park, Nov. 13, 2019

Brooklyn Park, MN – On November 13, 2019, at 06:29 a.m., Brooklyn Park officers were dispatched to the intersection of 65th Avenue and Zane Avenue on a report of a personal injury accident involving a pedestrian and a school bus. Responding officers located an adult male who had been struck by the school bus while riding a bicycle. The adult male was found to have passed away from his injuries while on scene. The driver of the school bus is cooperative and remained on scene. The school bus was occupied by 10 students who were on their way to a local charter school. The children were not harmed during this incident and were transferred to another bus.

An investigation is being conducted into the the accident by the Brooklyn Park Police Department. Minnesota State Patrol and Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office is assisting.
