Brooklyn Park has approximately 72,724 people as of 2007, up from 67,388 counted in the 2000 Census. Predictions put the population at 78,000 within 20 years.
The median age of residents is 27.6 years. More than 30 percent of those living in the city are children under age 18.
Brooklyn Park is the sixth largest city in Minnesota and continues to be a rapidly growing second-ring suburb.
