Hennepin County has developed a comprehensive system of drop-off facilities and public education programs that provides residents an ongoing and convenient opportunity to manage household hazardous materials and a variety of problem materials.
Household hazardous waste and problem materials are items and products commonly found in most homes, used or stored for a time, and eventually may need special management. They are materials that would likely release hazardous substance, pollute or contaminate air or water, and may provide a threat to the environment and solid waste facilities if mixed with garbage for disposal.
Hennepin County residents can take household hazardous waste materials, year round, to the following locations:
