The Brooklyn Park City Council announced a new award program to recognize residents who do a little extra to make the City of Brooklyn Park a better place to live, work or play.
To nominate a Brooklyn Park resident for the award, download the application (PDF file), fill it in and send it to the address listed on the application, or call 763-493-8154 to request an application.
The program was initiated to promote the understanding that the strength of our community is dependent upon a network of residents who voluntarily make the effort and take the necessary time to improve our quality of life. Often these volunteers neither expect nor receive proper recognition for their efforts to protect our environment, provide opportunities for youth or many other means of exemplifying good citizenship.
The City Council has established this program as a means to thank these many volunteers. The Council also established a committee comprised of the Mayor, the City Manager and a Council Member to review the award. Award recipients will be presented with a certificate and have a proclamation read on their behalf at a Council meeting.
