Mission

The mission of the Code Enforcement and Public Health (CEPH) Division is to protect and improve the environmental conditions and quality of life for those who live in, work in, and visit Brooklyn Park. We achieve this through strategic planning, communication, education, proactive inspections, and response to service requests.

Goals

The Code Enforcement & Public Health (CEPH) Division has adopted the following goals within the Community Development Department:

  • Promote safe, attractive, connected, and viable residential and commercial areas.
  • Maintain, enhance, and reshape residential and commercial areas through effective and fiscally-responsible services.
  • Promote high living standards and accountable partners through outstanding customer relations and communications.
  • Strengthen and guide the future of Brooklyn Park through consistent, practical, legal (ethical) and forward-thinking code administration and program management.

To accomplish the goals, CEPH has the following four programs in place:

  • Business Maintenance Program (BMP)
  • Environmental Health & Housing (EH)
  • Public Service Requests / Complaint
  • Spruce Up the Park (SUP)

The Code Enforcement & Public Health Divisions (CEPH) uses a balanced scorecard management system that analyzes four perspectives (Financial; Customer; Operations; Learning, Growth, & Personnel) in an effort  to continuously improve division performance and results.   Vision and strategy become action through feedback on internal processes and external outcomes. The focus of services is on value.
