The City of Brooklyn Park's park system affords you and your family over 1,700 acres of neighborhood parks, activity buildings, picnic pavilionsice arenas, golf coursesathletic complexes and environmental areas.  Have a picnic, play at your neighborhood park, or simply enjoy a walk on one of the many scenic trails in our city. Brooklyn Park's Adopt a Park program works cooperatively with our Park Maintenance staff to keep our parks beautiful and well maintained.

Adopt a Park
volunteers can choose to maintain the shrub gardens/ landscape beds and/or patrol their park each week during the summer, keep litter picked up and the park looking tidy, and report any vandalism or needed repairs. Park volunteers report to the Parks Superintendent. Volunteers may adopt the park/garden of their choice (providing it has not already been adopted). Time commitment is about one hour per week during the summer.

Clean up the Park!
Would you like to help clean our city before the busy summer season? If you would, call the Recreation office and sign up to help Clean up the Park. Groups, families and individuals can volunteer. You will be assigned an area to clean and be provided with instructions and garbage bags. Clean up the Park day is April 28, 2012, but can take place anytime between April and mid-May on the day of your choice.
