The Recycling Division provides recycling service for all residents in the City through a contracted hauler. Place your recycling cart at the curb by 6:30 am on the same day as your garbage pick up. Recycling is collected every other week for single family residents. Check the recycling calendar to find out what day you have recycling pick up.

See the Recycling and Materials Management Guide for information on how to reduce, reuse, recycle and live sustainably in Brooklyn Park!

Did you know...

Recycling 2 gallons of oil can generate enough electricity to run an average household for almost 24 hours (American Petroleum Institute). You can help the City save money and reduce CO2 emissions by dropping off your used oil 24 hours a day 7 days an week!

The city of Brooklyn Park, in partnership with "East Side Oil" has a public drop off site for used oil, oil filters, and anti-freeze. The oil is used to heat various city buildings, which saves the city about $40,000 annually. Watch a Dan the Recycling Man video about oil recycling.
