These ideals are reflected in your police department's mission statement and its associated core values. We do not view these as simple or even lofty goals, but rather as non-negotiable mandates that each member of this department must strive to meet.

Register Your Ride!
Your bicycle that is! Available now! In the past few years the State of Minnesota has taken off the bicycle licensing laws in the entire state. As a result of this change, residents owning bicycles are not required to register them. However, the Brooklyn Park Police Department received a grant from Target that enabled us to develop a program to reduce and prevent bicycle theft. This program is voluntary but includes having residents registering their bicycles at the police department and being given an identification sticker that would be placed on their bicycle.
The purpose of the identification stickers serves two purposes. First, the visibility of the identification sticker notifies the bike theft that the bike is registered and marked and is the primary factor in preventing bike theft. Second of all, the identification sticker allows the police department to notify the owners of registered bicycles if the bicycle is abandoned or found property turned over to the police department. This program is free and there is no cost to residents.
To "Register Your Ride", stop by the Brooklyn Park Police Department at any time to register your bicycle.
