A city mechanical license is required to pull permits and do mechanical work in the city of Brooklyn Park. You will need to complete the application and provide a copy of your $25,000 State Surety Bond certificate. This certificate is provided to you by the Department of Labor and Industry, Building Codes and Standards Division. If you plan on doing gas line work then you need to provide us with a copy of your 'gas competency' card.
If you want to pull permits and do on-site utility work (sewer & water) and you are not a licensed plumber you need to register with the city as a pipe layer. A copy of your pipe layers training card from an approved organization must be provided, along with a copy of your Department of Labor and Industry "unlicensed contractor - $25,000 bond certificate".
To pull permits and do plumbing work in the city you must be registered with the city as a plumber. Please provide us with a copy of your State Master Plumber license.
