The City of Brooklyn Park depends on citizen volunteers to advise elected officials and help them govern effectively. Those serving on these unpaid volunteer advisory groups are appointed by the City Council (except the Charter Commission, which is appointed by the District Court) and provide recommendations and suggestions to the City Council, either on specific issues or special areas of concern regarding a particular government or community function.
