Jamie Verbrugge was appointed City Manager for the city of Brooklyn Park in 2008. The City Manager is the sole employee of the city council and is responsible for the daily activities of eight departments consisting of over 300 full and part-time employees, and a general fund budget of approximately $30 million.
Prior to accepting the position with Brooklyn Park, Verbrugge served the City of Rosemount, MN for 5 years as City Administrator. Since 1993, he has served local governments in the cities of Richfield and Eagan, MN; Stearns Country, MN; and Franklin County Emergency Management, WA.
As the city's chief executive, the City Manager is responsible for administrative and policy support to the city council, organizational leadership, direction and development and a liaison to the community as well as to other levels of government.
