Communications – Initiates contact and maintains proactive relationships with media; produces and distributes news releases, press kits, media alerts and public service announcements; generates coverage of city events, activities and leaders; plans and holds press conferences as needed; develops speeches and related presentation materials; develops and manages internal communications, and enhances public image. The Communications works with Special Events to coordinate community events and volunteers.
Special Events – Single point of contact for community, city and volunteer projects and events; facilitates and launches signature events such as Tater Daze; forges relationships with community and civic organizations; partners with Northwest Community Television and the city’s Human Relations Committee.
