Brooklyn Park uses the International Property Maintenance Code (IPMC) as its standard for rental property inspections.
The City’s Building Official oversees the work of the rental license inspections program. The inspections are conducted by certified building inspectors who are assigned to serve rental housing in the community. The inspectors will work with you to achieve compliance with the IPMC and other applicable laws.
If your property requires major repairs the inspectors can help you identify what work is required and set a reasonable amount of time for you to complete the repairs. In addition, funding assistance through the
Center for Energy and Environment may be available to assist with repair costs.
