The City of Brooklyn Park has made significant and valuable investments in public safety. With 105 sworn police officers and 50 part-time and full-time non-sworn staff, the department is able to not only provide 24 hour public safety service, but invest in its people and initiatives that reduce crime and improve the quality of life for our residents and visitors.
Demonstrative of this investment was the hiring of Chief Michael Davis. Hired in February 2008, Police Chief Michael Davis immediately began to institute a strategic vision for the department. This vision is based on the following three principles:
1. The deployment of resources based on timely intelligence information and accurate analysis.
2. Continuous engagement and trust building within the community or promote effective problem-solving and crime prevention/reduction efforts.
3. Effective collaboration with residents, city departments, local schools, community organizations, law enforcement partners, prosecutorial entities, for the purpose of developing and implementing long-term strategies that will reduce crime and increase the livability of our city.
The Brooklyn Park Police Department provides a variety of services to the community including emergency response, calls for services, investigative resources and providing needed documentation to residents. The Police Department is located at 5400 - 85th Avenue North, Brooklyn Park and the main number is 763-493-8222. We are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
You may come in at anytime to request a copy of a police report or an accident report. If the incident is no longer under active investigation, it may be released to you for a small fee (see fee schedule below). You may also request to speak with an officer to report an incident that occurred in Brooklyn Park.
