The City of Brooklyn Park partnered with the Corridor Housing Initiative (CHI) and Hennepin County to host a series of four workshops that provided residents the opportunity to participate in the planning process by exploring development concepts for the Regent Redevelopment site.

About the Regent Redevelopment Site

On July 30, 2007, the Brooklyn Park Economic Development Authority (EDA) purchased the Huntington Pointe Apartments, a 306-unit apartment complex located at the intersection of Brooklyn Boulevard and Regent Avenue, to facilitate redevelopment. The redevelopment of the site is consistent with the city’s 2005 Stable Neighborhood Action Plan (SNAP) process.

The EDA relocated the tenants to other housing in late 2007 and early 2008. Demolition of the apartments began on April 28, 2008. After the site is cleared and seeded, the site will be maintained as open-space until a development project moves forward.
