In September 2007, the Brooklyn Park Economic Development Authority (EDA) approved an agreement with Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity. Under the agreement, the EDA will provide up to $400,000 in Minnesota Housing Pilot Funding to assist in the acquisition of up to 20 Habitat for Humanity sites over the next several years.
Two new Habitat for Humanity homes will be completed in 2010 in the Town Gardens development, located southwest of Zane Avenue and Brooklyn Boulevard. In December 2008, Habitat for Humanity completed its first three homes in Brooklyn Park under its agreement with the EDA. Additional sites will be identified and approved over the next few years.
