What is the Youth Advisory Commission?
The Youth Advisory Commission is designed to be the voice of Brooklyn Park’s youth. The Commission will be composed of 30-36 high school-aged youth in Brooklyn Park. Our goal is to have a representation of all the various schools and ethnicities in the City. The youth on the Commission will become leaders of the Brooklyn Park youth community and will function in an advisory capacity to the Youth Opportunities Coalition. The Youth Advisory Commission will also help to encourage youth civic engagement in Brooklyn Park.
How can I join?
The Youth Advisory Commission is open to Brooklyn Park residents who are ages 14-18. The best way to get involved is to participate in the Youth Leadership Summit on Wednesday, August 29, 2007. A diverse group of youth will be selected from the summit who show excellent leadership potential to join the Youth Advisory Commission. If you are unable to attend the summit but wish to serve on the Youth Advisory Commission, please contact Champions For Youth or click here for an application.
