Recycle Electronics and Other Items for Free

    

Brooklyn Park residents can recycle unwanted electronics, household hazardous waste and problem materials at the Hennepin County Recycling Center located at 8100 Jefferson Highway in Brooklyn Park. The facility is open year round from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday, Thursday and Friday; 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday (closed Sunday, Monday and holidays). Many items are accepted for free including: 
  • Consumer electronics (televisions, computers, video cassette recorders, stereos, etc.)
  • Household hazardous wastes, including mercury items (fluorescent and HID lamps. thermostats and thermometers)
  • Pesticides
  • Automotive wastes (oil & oil filters, fuel additives, starter fluid, waxes)
  • Aerosol cans, paint, lead-based paint chips, solvent and thinners
  • Pool, photographic and hobby chemicals
  • Rechargeable tools, household batteries and lead-acid batteries.
