Gold Spud Hunt Winner

Congratulations to Jacob Wilson who discovered the lost Golden Spud on Saturday evening, July 18 on the south side of the sliding hill at Central Park, 8440 Regent Ave North hidden in a tuft of long grass. The prized McTater Family heirloom was found by Jacob while playing the disc golf course at Central Park. He will receive his reward at the National Night Out celebration on August 5 from the Wells Fargo Bank representative, Gary Moscatelli.  When asked what his plans were for the prize money, Jacob simply replied, "Pay some bills - have some fun.Today is my birthday!"

Thanks to everyone out there hunting for the Golden Spud - See you next year

Notes on 2008 clue poems:
The clues this year were infused with some political humor in light of the 2008 election. Each clue was built on reference to a direction of Spuds travels in the City and and its meaning in political leaning (heading LEFT, veering RIGHT, going GREEN, INDEPENDENCE North) as well as, historical or geographically significant name/information, or combination of these... entwined with the usual Spud McTater saga of the lost Golden Spud. Clue #3 refers to McTater being "down in the dumps" which refers to early history of Central Park actually being a city dump site long ago. Clue #7 refers to "sliding in the polls" (i.e.. Central Park's sliding hill).
